PHILIP
WATSON is a director and principal human resource consultant of
the GMCG. He has approximately twenty years national experience as a senior
consultant and advocate. Philip has been extensively involved with organisational
change management and managing performance through Human Resources, Industrial
Relations and facilitating specialist training seminars.
Philip holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Relations and Economics, from
the University of Western Australia and a Master of Business Administration
Degree (MBA) from the Graduate School of Management (UWA).
Philip is an adjunct lecturer at the Graduate School of Management (UWA) and
is a Mentor on the Growth Program at Curtin University (Entrepreneurship and
Business Development Unit). He is an active member of the Australian Institute
of Management and a member of the Graduate Management Association.
During his corporate career, Philip has held the following senior positions;
Manager WA - Fisher Cartwright Berriman, Lawyers & Consultants in HR and
IR Management.
Manager - Industrial Relations for the Chamber of Manufactures of New South
Wales (now the Australian Business Chamber).
Senior Industrial Advocate for the Australian Chamber of Manufactures (now
the Australian Industry Group).

BARRY
SMITH is Managing Director
and principal management consultant of the GMCG. He has a wealth of commercial
experience as a senior manager with The Shell Company of Australia. Between
1995 and 2001, he led a diverse operational team of over 350 staff through
very turbulent times including comprehensive industry and network restructuring,
internal rationalisation and the development of business diversification opportunities.
Barry has extensive practical management and strategic planning experience.
He has been a consultant to the State Government (DOCEP) on the petroleum
industry and pricing issues, is a Mentor on the Growth Program at Curtin University
(Entrepreneurship and Business Development Unit) and has been a member of
the Australian Institute of Management for the last 15 years. He holds a Bachelor
degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Western Australia
and a Graduate diploma in Corporate Management (NSW).
